Trevor Lock
One of the most exciting acts in live comedy, Trevor has also presented and acted on some of the UK’s most popular radio and TV shows.
Noted for his ability to improvise whole routines on stage, Trevor is also an excellent joke writer. His brand of intelligent stand up, mixing cleverly crafted wordplay with stream of consciousness improvisation has gained him a worldwide cult following.
After breaking onto the small screen with BBC3′s Brain Candy in 2003 and bizarrely supporting both Stewart Lee and Russell Brand on UK tours, his raucous weekly comedy showcase Trevor Lock’s Philosophy Society ran for 18 months to sell out audiences in Leicester Square from 2007 to 2008.
As a writer Trevor’s comic plays have garnered high praise in the theatre and have also been adapted for BBC Radio 4. As well as acting in all three series of Channel 4′s Bafta nominated, British Comedy Award winning Star Stories Trevor was also a popular member of Russell Brand’s chart topping Radio 2 podcast as Cocky Locky.
Following in the footsteps of The Dalai Lama, Bill Clinton and Kermit the Frog, Trevor has also addressed the world famous Oxford Union where he spoke on The Meaning Of Life, remarkably refuting Descarte’s maxim ‘Cogito ergo sum’ (I think therefore I am) by tipping a glass of water over his head!
After a spell in South America where he made his film acting debut in the Peruvian auteur Alvaro Velarde’s comedy As If You Don’t Love It (2012) he’s been back touring the UK in 2011 via his fan’s living rooms – www.lockinmylounge.com
